Fifth batch of updates, and the common thread is simple: making Launch'it more accessible. Try before you pay, publish without paying at all, distribute on Linux, manage your launcher from your phone...
Test paid plans with trial credits
This is THE big one: every verified account now receives free trial credits, to activate whenever you want from Account > Plan.
How it works:
- A credit temporarily unlocks a higher plan, for a set duration
- You choose when to activate it; nothing starts without you
- A credit can't be wasted: if activating it wouldn't actually give you more than your current plan, it's blocked
- You can hold several credits and use them at different times, going back to the Free plan in between
And no nasty surprises at the end of a trial: you get reminders 7 days and 1 day before expiration, both by notification and by email.
The Free plan can now publish
The free plan becomes a real plan, not just a sandbox:
- You can publish your launcher and distribute it to your players, with the Home and Settings modules
- A discreet "Powered by Launch'it" shows up in your launcher (paid plans can hide it)
- And one important guarantee: if your plan is downgraded, already-distributed launchers keep working with all their modules. Only Panel editing gets restricted; your players won't notice a thing
Combined with trial credits, you can now start for free, publish, test the advanced features, then make an informed decision.
Your launcher runs on Linux
Linux players are no longer left out: your launcher can now be downloaded as a tar.gz archive, with a one-line install script (curl | sh). Application shortcuts are properly handled on install and uninstall alike.
And to distribute it all, every launcher now gets a public download page styled with your launcher's theme: your colors, your identity; not ours.
Multiple servers on your home page
The server status section of the Home module now handles a list of servers instead of just one. Survival, minigames, creative: display each one's status on your launcher's home, in whatever order you want.
The Panel in your pocket
The Panel and the website are now fully usable on mobile: redesigned tables, adaptive menus, dialogs and configuration pages that fit small screens. Tweaking a config or checking your stats from your phone is finally comfortable.
Files that stay truly in sync
The File Integrity module gets smarter: the launcher now remembers the files it installed. When you delete a file on the Panel side, it's now removed from your players' machines instead of lingering as an orphan. What your players have on disk exactly mirrors what you configured.
Also worth mentioning
- Modpack imports: on top of .mrpack and CurseForge, you can now import a plain .zip archive of your game folder, up to 2 GB
- The dark mode chosen on public pages now survives navigation
- The website got a deep rework to be properly indexed by search engines
- Launcher side: fixes for loaders showing stale values, the loading spinner and a few translations, all shipped in version 1.0.3
That's it for now
With trial credits and the expanded Free plan, there's really no reason left not to give Launch'it a try; and if you do, your feedback remains our best compass for what comes next.
See you soon,
